Privacy Policy
Effective May 1, 2026
This Privacy Policy explains how Random Bits Studio LLC (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares information when you use the River Renaissance resident portal at riverrenaissance.appand the River Renaissance iOS app (together, the “Service”).
The Service is a private application for residents of the River Renaissance community. Access requires approval by community administrators.
Information we collect
Information you provide
- Account details: your email address, full name, unit number, and whether you are an owner or tenant. You provide these when applying for access.
- Profile photo: an optional avatar image you upload.
- Content you post: messages you send to building management, posts and replies in community forums, and any images you attach.
- Communication preferences: your settings for which email and push notifications you wish to receive.
Information we collect automatically
- Authentication data: one-time login codes sent to your email and hashed session tokens used to keep you signed in.
- Device tokens: if you enable push notifications on iOS, we store the Apple Push Notification service (APNs) token associated with your device so we can deliver notifications.
- Activity timestamps: we record when your account was last active to help administrators manage the resident directory.
- Server logs: our hosting providers record standard request metadata (IP address, user agent, timestamps) for security and operational purposes.
We do not use third-party advertising networks, analytics trackers, or behavioral tracking technologies. We do not sell or rent personal information.
How we use information
- To verify your identity and keep you signed in.
- To deliver community announcements, events, direct messages, and forum content to you and other residents.
- To send email and push notifications according to your preferences.
- To allow administrators to review applications and manage user accounts.
- To secure the Service and prevent abuse.
- To comply with applicable laws and respond to valid legal requests.
How information is shared within the community
Because the Service is a private community app, information is visible to other authorized users in the following ways:
- Other residents see your first name, last initial, building, and profile photo when you post in the community forum or otherwise interact in shared spaces.
- Community administrators can see your full name, unit number, email address, role (owner/tenant), and the content you post or send.
- Direct messages you send to building management are visible to administrators only.
Service providers
We rely on the following third-party processors to operate the Service. These providers process information on our behalf and are contractually bound to handle it appropriately:
- Cloudflare, Inc.— application hosting (Workers), file storage (R2) for uploaded images, and outbound email routing.
- Neon, Inc.— managed PostgreSQL database hosting.
- Apple Inc.— delivery of push notifications via the Apple Push Notification service and distribution of the iOS app.
- Anthropic, PBC— we send the text of messages you write to building management to the Claude API to generate a short subject line for the conversation. Anthropic does not train its models on this data per its commercial API terms.
We may also disclose information when required by law, to enforce our terms, or to protect the rights, safety, and property of residents and the community.
Data retention
We retain your account information for as long as your account is active. Content you post (announcements, events, messages, forum posts and replies) remains in the Service after posting so other residents can continue to see it, even if you later edit or remove your own access. One-time login codes expire shortly after issuance. Session tokens expire automatically and on sign-out.
Your choices and rights
- Access and update: you can update your profile information from within the app at any time.
- Notifications: you can turn email and push notifications on or off in your in-app settings, and disable push notifications at the iOS system level.
- Account deletion: to delete your account and associated personal information, contact us at info@randombits.studio. Note that posts and replies you authored may remain visible after deletion with your name removed.
- Sign out:signing out of the app on a device removes the device’s push notification token from our system.
Depending on where you live, you may have additional rights under laws such as the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) or the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), including the right to access, correct, or delete personal information we hold about you, or to object to certain processing. To exercise these rights, contact us at info@randombits.studio.
Security
We protect access with email-based one-time codes, encrypted transport (HTTPS), hashed session tokens, and access controls that restrict administrative data to approved community administrators. No system can be guaranteed completely secure; please use a unique email and keep your devices protected.
Children
The Service is intended for adult residents and is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, please contact us so we can remove it.
International users
The Service is operated in the United States. If you access it from outside the U.S., your information will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. by us and our service providers.
Changes to this policy
We may update this policy from time to time. When we make material changes, we will update the effective date above and, where appropriate, notify residents through the Service.
